Activity

Today we will begin with an introduction to the Home Row Keys!!! We have definitely been introduced to this before, but in a less formal way. This quarter will find 3rd grade heavily focused on learning effective keyboarding including use of the home row keys as their base, good posture, and typing without looking at their fingers!

Class will begin with this fun video: Home Row Keys. After we watch it, we will find the home row keys on the keyboard and then write them into our . We will then complete a where we search for as many words as we can make with the home row keys.

Assessment

Students will be assessed on the following:

• Can they identify the home row keys
• Can they remember the phrase that will help them remember the order of the home row keys
• Did they participate in completing the activity sheets
